Not Me

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I am not running my first pattern presale right now! It doesn't end today so I definitely am not encouraging you to order yours if you are interested. It will be on Etsy in a week or 2 if you'd rather wait.

I did not vacuum under my couch cushions yesterday for the first time in forever...like since we got them in October! Ok, I did clean out under them a few times when they were all brand new and shiny promising myself I would do it regularly only to abandon that promise after the first few times. It was not super disgusting! I did not promise I will be better...again...only to probably fail again.

I have not been super busy with my crocheting. I am trying to get as many new items together as possible before this little one comes knowing how much time an 11 year old, 17 month old and infant take up! Due to this super busy status I have not slacked on cooking dinner...really, really badly. I need new quick and easy recipes stat!

I have not slacked on my blog lately. I am not promising to do better...or maybe I am promising? Yes, yes I am promising to do better.

I did not HAVE to have a new camera...only to have hardly even used it. This is my goal too...learn something new on this every week.

My son did not decide to hop into his sister's bath...fully clothed and diapered. That's my water loving boy!
sorry for the crap blackberry pic

Now, what didn't you do???

Week 21 Baby banana...I mean O

Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

His skin has changed from being translucent to opaque as the skin cells grow and stretch in preparation for the fat deposits, which will soon form under baby’s skin. If your baby is a girl, her womb and vagina are formed. She will have 6 million eggs in her ovaries decreasing down to one million, before she is even out of her own mother’s womb.

Your baby’s tongue is now fully formed and he is strengthening his muscles with movement. His bones are hardening nicely and his movements are much more coordinated now. He may be doing some gymnastics inside you at this very minute. Back flips and somersaults are entirely possible, and they are great practice for his leg and arm muscles.

Swallowing is becoming a steady activity with baby. After he takes in amniotic fluid, his body absorbs the water in the liquid, with the waste moving on into his large bowel. The digestive system is already at work!

As your baby grows, his wake and sleep cycles begin to form. Your activity level and eating patterns are normally what rules his, as he can now hear all that goes on around him. And when you eat and drink, he eats and drinks. It is now that you start to find out if you have a night owl or an early bird.

not baby O; just so you can see it really is a REAL baby in there :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
During my ultrasound last week they estimated baby O at 14 oz; heartrate was 156.  To read more about that appointment and see pics, go HERE.  I actually have another appointment next Tuesday and will have another ultrasound in about 3 weeks.
Life is busy, busy which is my only excuse for being a slacker!
My name is Scotti and I am a blog slacker. I have really, really been slacking around here! Of course I still read my other favorite blogs while enjoying my coffee but haven't really kept up with writing on my own. Shame, Shame!
On the positive side I have been very busy creating and enjoying the summer time with my kids. I have 2 new patterns complete and 2 or 3 more in process. I am meeting up with one of my favorite ladies Ciara (Ciara's fb, blog, website) next week to get some new product pics so I have been busy, busy trying to get stuff ready for it. I have a few brand new items that I can't wait to share with you! I am also getting some real pictures done of a few items I have listed but are in need of real photos. It's amazing how much better an item sells when it's appealing to look at ;) I seriously can't wait to see what she comes up with! Now cross your fingers Sawyer cooperates. He tends to not enjoy posing and really hates hats right now!
I am currently hosting a photo contest on my facebook page...there is still time to vote if you want to check it out! There are some great photos! I will be hosting a giveaway in a few days as a thank you to all my new fans. This photo contest brought in 200 new fans so I definitely need to say and show some thanks! It will be an easy to enter contest, patterns and real items so if you aren't already a fan you may want to join up!  Can't crochet?  There will be other items!
Other than business stuff we have been enjoying the pool and being lazy! Sawyer is still attempting to make us think he is going to walk any day now. He takes steps here and there but once he realizes it he sits right back down and crawls. Karly's bff comes home on Wednesday and she is thrilled. Apparently Sawyer and I aren't nearly as cool as an 11 year old girl. Here a few pictures from yesterday in the pool and bath. It's been raining on and off so it's about the only pool time we have had in a week or two!
Bath time= Sawyer's favorite time!
He is laughing at Karly in pretty much every picture :)
Baby O update!
Quick baby O update!
As some of you know this weekend I had some unexplained bleeding. A trip to the ER proved pointless and put me on bed rest until I could get in with my doctor today. Still after seeing the doctor no real explanation. He pretty much said there is some blood but there is nothing pointing to where it is coming from. My placenta was high so no previa, no dilating, which leads them to just diagnose it as a slight lifting of the edge of my placenta. I am supposed to take it a little easy for a week and go back. So glad it is nothing serious! I can't imagine being on bed rest long term! Either way we did get a quick ultrasound which is always a pleasant treat! No we didn't find out what it is, but the doctor now knows. It was a little tough to not find out but I know in the end I will be so happy I didn't!
Have any of you done this?? How did your family and friends react? The ultrasound tech said we were the second couple today to bicker about it during the ultrasound. I thought most couples agree either way but apparently we aren't alone. Chris thinks its ridiculous to not find out and while a teeny tiny part of me is curious I can't wait to have (s)he surprise us all. I know we will all be thrilled whatever the outcome is. 19ish more weeks and we will all know! Here are a few pictures from today. I will have another one in 4 weeks! Woo Hoo! I love ultrasounds!
Isn't it the cutest skeletor baby you have ever seen :)
20 weeks...the halfway point!
Your Baby: Week 20
This week you're carrying about 10.5 inches and 10.5 ounces of solid baby-miracle-goodness! Their little delicates bones continue to ossify and toughen while their itsy bitsy finger and toe pads are finishing up. Your little monkey now has teeth buds, although they’re hidden beneath the gum line. And finally! Their limbs have reached their relative proportions—no more alien baby! Their cute pink lips are more defined, and might be helping out in a bit of prenatal thumb-sucking. If you have a little boy, then their tiny testes are descending, though they have not yet passed the abdominal wall. What’s more, eyelashes and eyebrows are also visible. At this point, your little one really looks like a miniature baby—and we do mean miniature as your little swimmer currently weighs a mere eighth of their final birth weight. With half the pregnancy behind you, the most significant gains are yet to come! Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed!
Baby O is busy growing, but not too busy moving still.  I have felt a few super fast flutters but that's it...still!
For the first few months I really felt this was a girl baby but I should mention I felt the same with Sawyer.  Around 15 or 16 weeks I knew he was a boy and obviously he is.  This time around the same time I started feeling like this one is a boy too.  Of course there is only one way to find out!  No, not at my ultrasound...at the birth.  Jeez guys!  Anyways, I wake up this morning with this OVERWHELMING urge to buy this damn bow maker!  I have heard great things about it and if this is a girl she will sport a HUGE bow daily.  Soo, is this my gut telling me it's a girl or do I just like cute girl accessories???  I should mention I am still pulling for a brother for Sawyer.
What do you think it will be?  I already have 1 girl (11) and 1 boy (1).  I am 1 of 3 girls and my husband is an only child.  Let the guessing begin :)
