Wanna Make It Wednesday

Who doesn't love small things?!?! Baby things are the cutest little things ever I swear!

I have had these 3 patterns for a few months and STILL haven't made them! I seriously need to quit my job and craft all day!

I LOVED these boots at first sight! Immediately bought the pattern and then cursed the seller for taking more than 5 minutes to email it to me :) That lovely pattern is still sitting in my to-do pile :( months later. I really really need to make them while they will fit Sawyer!

These boots that can be found here.
Another pattern purchased and yet to be made. I think these are all boy and just too adorable! They can be found here.

I also had to have this pattern. I attempted it twice and they never turn out. I am still debating a 3rd attempt but thinking it may be best to abort mission and give one of the above a turn.

and I had to throw a delicious looking sandwich in here. Definitely not diet friendly but they may be a great December 31 food!
Hope you enjoy!

Not Me Monday

Ahhh back to the normal real world! I must admit I am a little happy the holidays are over. I hope you all had a great time! I have some serious evaluating I want to do about the holidays so that next year is better! Now for

1. I did not buy everything to bake cookies for our neighbors for the holidays and then run out of time!

2. I was not the only neighbor that didn't deliver handmade goodies.

3. I did not let Sawyer whine on his belly and play with dead leaves while I crafted.

4. I would never have waited until Christmas Eve to make Sawyer's stocking and Santa Sack... me? NEVER!

Now..., what DIDN'T you do?

"Not Me" Monday

I have told you before I love themed blogs or blogs with certain days being certain things. I ran across MckMama's blog the other day...great blog with a lot of great stuff. Read her amazing story about her little boy. Given no chance of survival and guess what...he is alive, well and cute as can be! This momma has 4 kids 4 and under...bless her.

Ok, so she does "Not Me Monday; being brutally honest and living to tell about it" a ton of other blogs participate and everyone leaves there link. This is my first week doing it so I am not 100% but I am pretty sure that's how it works! I loved reading other people's last week totally knowing I have done MANY of them :)

Sooooo without further ado....let Not Me Monday begin;

I did not go to bed without brushing my teeth last week.

I did not fall asleep folding laundry and sleep half sitting up with a towel in my hands until 4 am.

(different day than the teeth; think I need more sleep?)

I did not bribe my daughter to play with her brother so I could finish a craft I was almost done with and too selfish and into it to quit.

I did not leave laundry in the dryer most of the week.

I did not procrastinate on my Christmas cards until last night...EEK! Sorry everyone, maybe I should just start getting New Years Cards?

I am sure I have dozens more but this is what I can remember at the moment! Hope I made someone else out there feel a little better about their "Not Me" moments!

Sawyer's new bath tub

I finally found a bath ring! Seriously who knew these things were so hard to find now? All I could find was the new fangled crazy seat with the arm over the side of the tub. Please...my son shares a shower with his sister so less is more! What is with baby stuff being so huge and talking up so much space? My house resembles Babies R Us these days. Back to the bath time stuff...Sawyer LOVES bath time! Being 20lbs and pretty long he had had enough of his baby bath. He would kick and splash but more often than not end up kicking himself up and hitting his head at the top. I found this little baby on Amazon. He is in heaven now!
First time Sawyer made himself laugh! How lucky to catch it on video!

Thought of the day Thursday

Another great blog raising money for a good cause. Go check it out, donate $10 and be entered to win a great prize package! PROJECT 320

To those that read the blog about little Claire and her brother Benson...Claire is getting her transplant...TOMORROW! Thanks to everyone that helped raise a little money to help cushion the costs. I will be honest and say I was a little let down. The entire blog world and $2000. I do realize that is a lot of money, but it's just not enough in my opinion!

If you would like to donate a few bucks you still can!

Wanna Make it Wednesday...one day late

We had a family emergency yesterday; my apologies for the delay!

Sadly I have yet to make the advent tree I referred to in this blog. I love it and hope to have myself together by next year ;) My Christmas must have craft list is growing by the day! This is probably my second favorite advent idea! You can find the tutorial on Not So Idle Hands.
My next wanna make it...Hot Chocolate on a Stick. Mmmmmm real hot chocolate! Not only do I wanna make these, I am...tonight! Karly is putting these in a coffee mug along with a Christmas ornament and gift card for her teachers. I hope they turn out as good as I imagine them tasting! You can get the recipe here at Givers Log

A few pics from the past week

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Our tree is up and decorated (finally). I really didn't think Sawyer would take so much interest in it but he has figured out just how quickly he needs to roll to make it under the tree and tear up a few presents before he gets busted! I have a feeling a large number of presents may be less than perfect by Christmas.

Chris helping Kar get the star on top!
I searched high and low for a personalized ornament for Sawyer that I loved and couldn't find any that were perfect. Off to Etsy I went and stumbled on just what I wanted! You can see better pictures of front and back; HERE. I have an ornament that has my name and birth stats on it and always loved it! My sisters and I would always go straight for those ones and repeat our stats about a million times. I only ordered one to be sure I liked it first and will definitely be going back for one for Karly.

Karly eating her bagel before her "first job" as she called it. Sorry sweetheart, bake sales are volunteer work...that cost me money! She had a really good time and wanted to stay longer!

Friday night we met some family and friends at Outback for dinner. Dinner itself was a disaster but the company was great! Outback lighting and iphones don't make for the best pictures but these were too cute not to share.

Matchy Matchy :)

Weekend Recap

My weekend goal list was quite lengthy! It included making the star mentioned before, stockings and a Santa Sack for Sawyer, and of course to crochet. How many of these things did I accomplish? ZERO! I did accomplish a TON of baking for Karly's bake sale, about 8 loads of laundry, I finished Christmas shopping and most of my wrapping, oh and made some homemade chili.

I start my work week off feeling like I hardly accomplished a thing this weekend! I realize looking back that isn't the case but it's still frustrating to me. I need to get better about finishing the responsible stuff quickly so that I have more play time!

My list is already a mile long for this week! Here's to hoping I prioritize well!

Have a good week!

Bloom

I can't quite remember how I stumbled upon this story on Monday but it instantly broke my heart. I have been so blessed to have 2 healthy children I cannot even begin to imagine this families world. I knew I wanted to do a little something to help but they were already closed for donations. I emailed anyways and they said OF COURSE! I, like most people am short on time always and try to be careful with what I spend money on (not always so good) but this truly is a good thing to spend on! I donated a few items to be auctioned and will be heading over to find something to bid on!
I hope you will consider doing the same!

Here is the deal:
*****************************************************
Looking for a way to provide service this holiday season? Here is a great opportunity. Starting Thursday, December 10th, there will be a charity auction at BLOOM (www.placetobloom.blogspot.com) to benefit Claire and Benson Skinner.
As explained by their parents, "Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She has been on dialysis since she was 3 months old and is on dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She is now on the waiting list to receive a combined kidney / liver transplant. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants."
You can read more about the Skinners' experience HERE. (givehopetobensonandclaire.blogspot.com)
All proceeds from the auction at BLOOM will go directly to Claire's COTA (Children's Organ Transplant Association) account to help pay for her transplant.

Please head over to BLOOM Thursday-Saturday for the auction!

Wanna Make it Wednesday

Can I just say I love 'Wanna Make It Wednesday'! It makes me feel a little less guilt for the time I spend randomly blog stalking. Maybe I will find something and share and you will run out and make it…SEE me being helpful! That is my justification anyways ;)

So for today….a few things!

This is probably the cutest Christmas tree shaped peppermint bark. Now that I know just how easy it is I think I have to make it! Karly has a bake sale Saturday and this may be on the list! Dollar Store Crafts has the recipe! Cheap crafts…does it get any better than that?!?!

Second…
I love this Ornament Wreath! I really want to make one but am fairly certain it won’t be this year. I am running out of time! Go check it out…love the wreath, love Samster Mommy’s blog!

2 years down....many more to come

December 8, 2007 Chris and I shared our vows committing our lives together. We were both pretty nervous but knew everything would be great! We had a pretty short dating relationship much of which was spent half a world apart…literally. We decided to get married and had our wedding 2 weeks later! We never lived together before moving to Texas a month after the wedding. We had many naysayers but we refused to listen. Here we are 2 years later, even more in love and going strong.

I think my favorite thing about our relationship is that we never fight. I can truly think of 1 time that we really had words. Do we bicker, nag and annoy each other? Sure. At the end of the day we still love and respect each other.

Two years ago I got very lucky and married an amazing man that has grown into a great husband and father.

Santa Clause is coming to town...

or the local mall ;)

We went to the mall Friday night for a little Christmas shopping. Since there was NO line for Santa we decided Sawyer had to see him!! Karly hates Santa, always has, so she had no intention of going up there with her brother.

PS

30 bucks for pictures with Santa?!?! What the hell!?

Halloween

Another catch up!

Halloween!
It was great living in a neighborhood for Halloween. Our neighborhood was dead but the next one over was great! Karly dressed as a dead punk rock girl (???) and Sawyer went as a skunk!

Pumpkin Patch

Time for a little catch up post! In true October fashion we headed to the Canton Pumpkin Patch for the day. Painted pumpkins, rode the hayride, shot corn from a cannon and shot pumpkins from a sling shot! A good time for all!
We ran into our little cousin Neely and spent a little time getting their faces painted and riding a few little rides.
