Etsy Update

For those that have followed my blog for more than a few months, or are on my facebook (add me if you haven't!) or myspace you have already heard some of this and I just wanted to send a little update. For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about go here to THIS blog...yes just click those words and it will take you right to it!

I joined Etsy back in January and slowly nosed around and started to get a few things together for "my store". March I officially opened which in reality translates to I told people about it. I was really nervous to share my nerdy creative side but I have received nothing but support! Thanks to everyone for your kind words! I had my first sale mid March and just hit 36 sales! So it definitely isn't enough to live on, but it feels so good when people want my stuff! It also is almost to the point where it supports itself financially...which is the first goal! It would be self sufficient if I weren't always buying new stuff to try out :) I had a lady contact me about selling consignment out of her real store...I was very flattered and going to go for it, but between a full time job and a family I just don't think taking that step is the smartest move at this time. Plus, she makes money off of my stuff which means I have to make a lot more stuff to have the same return. I need to open a store and sell other people's stuff consignment! Any investors???

I have a few projects always going, but here are pics from 2 recent custom orders. They both turned out adorable! I also have a handful of items waiting for pictures to be taken and listed but I am going to have to wait a little so I know I can actually get them to the post office when they are purchased :)

JC visits!

Happy June! I hope everyone is doing well! It should be summer by now for just about everyone! Warm weather, bored children, ahh...the joys of summer! I wish I had a good excuse for slacking on here lately...I guess all I can say is life is busy and I am exhausted? Does that work? :) Well, today is the day I will catch up...must do so before Sawyer gets here...TOMORROW! Yes, I said tomorrow....more to come on that!

So, I had a lovely slide show put together for the baby shower blog with about 50 of the 200 pictures, but I couldn't get it to appear no matter how many times I tried! Sooo, needless to say you are stuck with just a few still ones (see blog below). I wish you all could have been here!

The weekend after the shower we had another set of visitors...can you feel the love?!?! An old family friend, and dear friend to me JC and his lady came out for a short visit. They brought a crib and only could stay for one night! I tried to tell them the crib wasn't worth the journey but the visit sure was. It was really nice to see them! We went to dinner that night and just hung out at the house. The next day Chris worked and the 4 of us headed to State Park. Sheri wanted some pictures and I figured a quick walk might help me progress some. Yes she got a lot of pictures...no my cervix didn't change :) My huge pregnant ass and JC's gimpy self managed to hobble around the entire lake...so it took us 2.5 hours and I could barely walk that night. It was great to catch up! JC is such a trooper! He broke his leg about 2 years ago and has had a very LONG road to recovery...he never complains even though I know his leg was probably on fire! It was gorgeous out and even started to sprinkle the last half hour or so!

Baby Shower!

May 16 was my baby shower! To those who made it, thanks a million! You really made it a special day. Laura, Gay, Nicki...thank you so much for pulling this together for me. It was beautiful. To my long drive guests (Callie), and my out of staters (Beth and Nicki) for flying in from Arizona...thank you! I truly have wonderful friends and family! One of the most special moments was my Grammi sending flowers. She lives in California so obviously couldn't be here. When I had Karly she send flowers to the shower and it was such a nice thought. I had just been thinking about how much it had meant to me that morning so when I showed up and there were flowers from her I couldn't help but tear up. It was the one thing I had thought of and so did she. Thanks Grammi. Thanks to everyone...I am truly blessed

PTA Music Performance

Karly's 4th grade recently put on a little music performance for the PTA and parents. Sneaky way to dupe you into attending the PTA meeting huh?!?! Just a great reminder of why I am not on the PTA...I mean really... you should have heard the lameness they were "voting" on. Not to mention its 5 parents who are essentially all buddies. They couldn't handle me! ANYWAYS... back on track... This is part of 4th grade singing and playing recorders...enjoy!

Field Day

End of the school year brings field day to most schools! I had taken the day off to spend some time with Nicki so we ventured off to the festivities of field day...95 degree weather and what felt like 98% humidity! Yes, I was fairly miserable! Karly was as cute as could be, but whats new with that! We spent a few hours there...headed home for a quick shower and then off for pedicures and a little shopping before dinner! All in all it was a lovely day!

Slacker!

I admittedly have been a terrible slacker on here lately! One month with no new blogs?!?! Who am I?!?! I have found my evenings busy with randomness/nothing…maybe I am just tired and lazy! Either way, I have quite a few things to post and am hoping to get them all up this week! Pregnancy is dragging by but flying by if that makes sense! It’s just crazy to think he will be here so soon! I should probably start getting things together for him huh?!?! If he were to arrive today I would have some diapers ready, oh and a car seat….yes, definitely time to crawl out of denial/procrastination and pull a few things together! Karly is down to a week of school and couldn’t be happier. Chris is still working 12 hour shifts like crazy. They are supposed to go back to 2 days off a week which I know he is looking forward to. Overtime is great, but its fine line that once you cross the majority goes to taxes anyways….and we all know how I feel about taxes! I’ll leave you with a few pictures and a promise to get caught up on here!

Karly's Recital!

Yes, my apologies, I am a week behind on posting this. Last Friday was Karly's recital for ballet and cheer. Well her teacher told us there was one production Friday night and 3 Saturday. Most of Chris's family had planned on coming Saturday and I hardly took any pictures assuming I had 3 more chances. Production ends, everyone says their goodbyes and I am super confused?!?! Apparently there are 3 Saturday....for the little kids :( So I hardly got any pics or video clips to share. Good thing I have posted them from the practices!

As always anything on a Friday after work is chaotic! We finally got everything together and Karly did beautifully! We are so proud of this kid! Here are a few pictures and short clips!
