Let's Chat for a minute!

Ads. Yes, I know my blog has some ads on it. Here is the scoop. I have wondered for quite some time if they actually make any money. I will be completely honest in saying my thought is..."hey why not?" I do think it makes the blog look a little...well, less pretty. I am going to leave them up for a bit and see what happens. Please be patient with me and tolerate them for the short time being. If I make a gazillion dollars off of them I promise to tell you all and give away tons of free stuff ;) No really, if its worth it I will let you know. If not (which I feel is likely the case) I'll tell you and take them down.

I also am going to start offering a little advertising to my lovely readers. I know I am not a huge blog but I get quite a few hits and figure you may want to try out some advertising that isn't going to cost you a fortune. I am open to ideas in helping get other working women's stores, blogs, websites, etc... noticed! I know it is no easy feat to get your name out there! Email me and let's talk! I am not going to turn into a giveaway after giveaway blog I promise :)

Next up, I have tossed around this idea for a few weeks. I brought the idea to a friend and to facebook and everyone seems pretty interested. I am hoping to pull this together by this upcoming weekend, but if not the following. I want to start a stitch-a-long. I think many of us (myself included) get very comfortable in our stitches. We all love us some single crochet, double crochet, half double, you get the idea. I would love to force myself to get more practice on some of these stitches that are not quite as common and maybe not as simple. I tend to sit in what is comfortable for me and I really need to spread my wings a little! I hope this will be fun and great for all of us! I haven't decided which day the post will be but I am thinking Saturday or Sunday. My hope is a stitch a week, but it may end up being every other. I will post the weeks stitch, along with directions and likely a YouTube demonstration of that stitch (please forgive me in advance for my annoying voice), I will then encourage you all to either post your results on your blog or maybe a flikr group...or maybe both??? I would love some feedback from you on this!!

If you read all of the above thanks for sticking with me :) I just wanted to touch base a little! Hope you have a great day and don't forget to leave a comment below with your thoughts and opinions!

I was thinking of doing the ad thing myself. Why not try it? Us moms need to do whatever we can! I'm trying to get my blog up and running with more people because I absolutely love to write, so I love reading yours and getting tips! Keep it up!

When I switched over to Blogger from WordPress at the end of March, I put ads on my site. So far, it hasn't yielded anything in the way of monetary payment.

I am a knitter who can single crochet around the edges of my knitting, so will be interested to see if I can even do any of your crochet stitches ... looking forward to trying!

I say go for it Scotti. If the ads work, then awesome. If they don't, then you know. I've been thinking about doing them too.

I'm definitely interested in the stitch along. I really want to learn how to crochet! It's time. hehe.

The stitch-along sounds fun!! I also tend to keep to the "safe and familiar"!

I would be very interested in advertising that isn't going to cost a fortune! I do a little of everything. My sites aren't updated right now, but will be pretty soon.

Yea let me know about the advertising stuff :) And love the stitch along idea. i only knew HDC DC TC and SC (well and cluster and puff depending on pattern reading) pretty much and just learned what a FPDC BPDC is I had to look it up to find out what they were for a pattern. Im willing and ready to learn!

When I finally get my store stocked decently, then I will definitely be interested in possible advertising. I would for sure join in on the stitch-a-long. I don't know a ton of stitches, so this would be great!
