Sopapilla Cheesecake

MMMMM...this is seriously deliciousness at its finest! About a year ago my cousin made it and it was love at first smell. I am sure this recipe is no secret but I had never tasted it and I have no idea where she got it. I did adjust the amounts of the really bad stuff (loads of sugar and butter...mmm) a little and it still tasted great and saved a few calories I made it for dinner Saturday night and thought you all might want to try it too! She doesn't blog so I'll share the recipe with you.

Here's what you need:

2 tubes of crescent rolls
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese (I used low fat and it was fine)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 stick butter (melted)
2 teaspoons cinnamon

In a 9×13 pan roll out 1 tube of the crescent roll dough, stretch to corners.

Cream the cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and vanilla; pour about 1/3 of the melted butter in the mix. Spread onto the crescent roll.

Unroll 2nd tube and put that across the cream cheese mixture. Stretch the dough to cover the goods underneath.

Mix about 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon together and then sprinkle over the top. If you like more or less sugar or cinnamon that is fine too. I think this is perfect!

Drizzle the rest of the melted butter over the top

Bake at 350 for approx 30 minutes.

I let this cool for just a bit. I love it when it's still warm but my mom likes it better cold. Either way its so tasty!

Not Me 02/08

Good Morning and Happy Monday all!  I hope everyone had a great week full of only good deeds ;)  I guess I will begin!

I did not make and serve dessert in place of dinner Saturday.  I would take much better care of my family than that.
(If I ever did do such a thing I would promise to post the recipe shortly)

After Sawyer got himself trapped in a boxed item I definitely freed the poor boy immediately!  I would never call Chris to come look at him first while he sat there whining.

I did not just buy Sawyer his first tooth brush at 8 months old and 4 teeth in.  Why wouldn't brushing his teeth dawn on me before this???

I suppose this will do for this week!  I am sure I have more but Sawyer is not crying for me to come get him so I must run!  If you want to link up your Not Me's head over to MckMama's blog for the info!

Week 1 of early retirement in a few bullets

Week 1 of early retirement in a few bullets

*S woke up overnight more nights than I'd like to remember. Was very thankful I didn't have to go to work the next morning.

*lots of dirty diapers, dirty dishes, dirty toilets, dirty...you get the idea.

*a lot less time creating than I was hoping but I lot more time spent with my kids, so totally worth the trade off.

*my very last paycheck deposited in my bank account. A little bit of nervousness regarding the fact that my income is now up to me and Etsy! Eeek!

*the week still flew by! I thought it would go slower not being at work but nope!

Goals now that I have seen how things are sort of going

1. get Sawyer on a sleep schedule ASAP!

2. attempt to set aside an hour or so a day to create

3. go to bed with my husband more than 1 night a week; he gets lonely and me staying up half the night isn't healthy

4. crock pot! love this damn thing and for some reason I have a new disdain for cooking dinner

5. clean more. my house still resembles a college dorm post frat party. Can't I not work and still have a maid?

Any tips or input?

Buttons!
I FINALLY learned how to make the codes to make buttons magic!  Thanks Linda at Craftaholics Anonymous for the great tips!

Now I just need to learn how to make the damn pictures small and still look ok (thanks Nicki for your help again this time)!  Now I just need to learn how to make a 3 column blog.  Anyone have any tips or websites to help?

If you are a button collector feel free to take one of my blog or etsy ones!

Wanna Make it Wednesday

I always have a list of stuff I really want to make most of them will never reach fruition but this one really REALLY needs to! I have been wanting something for the space by my back door and this will be perfect for it!

You can find the plans to build one for yourself on Ana's Knock Off Wood website.

Now just to get the courage to tackle it!

Tooth #4

Tooth #4 finally made its debut Tuesday February 2! The bottom right tooth sure did take its time, it was the second one to start its journey and the last to get there! Needless to say Sawyer is a much happier man. He isn't the most cooperative tooth model, especially those bottom ones but I had to share a few of the new chompers!

Look at those big ol pearly whites!

Not Me 02/01

Ahhh...let the not me's begin!

I did not wake up in a panic thinking I had to work today only to remember that I am currently retired! Woo Hoo! Staying home with my baby all day! Oh....unless pattern sales don't pick up at which point I will have to find a part time evening gig ;(

I did not give in Friday when I knew Karly was faking because I knew fighting with her all morning would only lead to me wanting to beat her.
Eleven is a hard age...for her at least!

I am not scoping out MOPS groups hoping...ok, HOPING DESPERATELY to find a friend! Man that sounds lame. I wouldn't have to go to a group to make a friend...people flock to me!

Over the last week, maybe two, I did not watch Big Love for more hours than anyone should ever admit to. On the plus side had a watched endless hours of Big Love I probably would have seen most of Season 2 which I may have missed!
These confessions are more like a sampling of my Not Me's that would never happen regularly! Now it's your turn!
