Not Me 02/15

Good Morning and Happy President's Day!

I hope everyone had a good week full of perfect moments...nothing that would make it to the Not Me board.

On to my unconfessional...

I most definitely did not let my kids have brownies for breakfast Friday morning!  Who would do such a thing?  Not me.  If I did I certainly wouldn't justify it by saying that they are no worse than donuts.

After suffering through a HUGE box of Huggies that continually leaked I did not switch to Luvs...this probably sounds extremely stuck up and snobby but Luvs just seem.... well, cheap.  Everytime I change S now I certainly don't sing the commercial, "Live and learn, then get Luvs".  After 2 days no leaks though!  Sooo needless to say I guess sometimes cheaper is better.  Sidenote:  I loved Huggies until about a month ago when for some reason he started leaking all the time!  I went up a size hoping that was the problem but nope!

I have not gone 2+ months since waxing my eyebrows!  NEVER would I let myself go like that!

My house is still not a wreck.  I mean really if I quit my job to stay home with my baby and tend house one would assume it would look a little better than the train wreck that it resembles.

I am not sending my very last Christmas present out today.  It is not finally happening because I need to send a card to the same house.  Sorry Ariel for Christmas gloves that will be reaching you in AZ with lovely 75 degree weather.  I hope your hands don't grow this year!

Now where is that Not My Spouse picture when I need it???

My darling husband would never give S a HUGE pile of paper and mail to play with while we were cleaning up the computer space and house. This did not lead to more than a dozen papercuts all over his hands.  I know awful right?!  Seriously Chris felt terrible and so did I!  I can't even believe I confessing to this one!  Well, Sawyer had a lot, like A LOT of them and got blood all over his hands, face and even the carpet.  Luckily all but 1 stopped bleeding quickly.  One required his first bandaid :(  Did I mention he didn't even cry?

Now, what DIDN'T you do??

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope yours was great. Mine was like any other day. We really don't make a big deal out of these little holidays. I crocheted, laid around watching movies and relaxing. Chris works nights this weekend so he slept most of the day. Karly stayed at her friends house and their guinea pigs were married today. I love that my fifth grader is still very much a little girl. They assured us there would be no honeymoon for the pigs. No baby pigs needed here! Sawyer officially crawls now! Oh and pulls himself up! As if adding one new mode of mobility and mischief wasn't enough. I can't believe how fast he is growing up. He is such a big boy!

I'll leave you with a few pictures. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

This is how Sawyer has "crawled" for the last few weeks; he has the army crawl down but mostly does the sky diving, high centered, arm and leg flap...love it.  I will miss it.

Momma's little helper

Could he be any cuter?!?
I mean SERIOUSLY

Karly's project

Karly just wrapped up a book project. Her class had to read Island of the Blue Dolphins. This is my favorite childhood book! Truly, I still have my copy :) I let Karly use it and would be lying if I said I weren't worried she were going to lose or destroy it! Lucky for her she didn't soooo I'll keep her around. This is her project, the dogs cave. This is her TX bff (she is very clear about that) Sam. We couldn't ask for a nicer girl to live across the street. Seriously we got so lucky! Karly and Sam are in the same grade and get along great!

Sawyer's new toothbrush

As mentioned earlier it took me 4 teeth to think about Sawyer needing a toothbrush. Oops...not my mom of the year moment :) I just wanted to share a few pictures of him looking so cute with it.

Wanna Make it Wednesday 02/10

Happy Hump Day! I have a few new followers...please leave a comment and introduce yourself! I would also love to see your blogs if you have them so feel free to leave a link!
On to Wanna Make it Wednesday...and I am actually going to make them! Honestly! I went and bought the yarn but apparently Michaels no longer carries embroidery hoops?? What the H? O'well, I'll have to wait for Hobby Lobby tomorrow.

First up this adorable scarf on Prudent Baby! Not sure what makes it so cute since it's just a plain stitched crochet scarf but it is! Maybe it's that it is one big circle that is wrapped around your neck like long necklaces? Maybe its the uber chunky yarn? Either way my mom will be a recipient of it soon!

Second, I have seen variations of this sort of letter knock off all over.   Here is the $300 version

Imperfectly Beautiful shares her version, the less than $8 version! I am going to take this idea, switch it up a little and make it my own. Pictures to follow hopefully in a few days!

Hope you enjoyed!  What do you wanna make?

Sopapilla Cheesecake

MMMMM...this is seriously deliciousness at its finest! About a year ago my cousin made it and it was love at first smell. I am sure this recipe is no secret but I had never tasted it and I have no idea where she got it. I did adjust the amounts of the really bad stuff (loads of sugar and butter...mmm) a little and it still tasted great and saved a few calories I made it for dinner Saturday night and thought you all might want to try it too! She doesn't blog so I'll share the recipe with you.

Here's what you need:

2 tubes of crescent rolls
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese (I used low fat and it was fine)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 stick butter (melted)
2 teaspoons cinnamon

In a 9×13 pan roll out 1 tube of the crescent roll dough, stretch to corners.

Cream the cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and vanilla; pour about 1/3 of the melted butter in the mix. Spread onto the crescent roll.

Unroll 2nd tube and put that across the cream cheese mixture. Stretch the dough to cover the goods underneath.

Mix about 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon together and then sprinkle over the top. If you like more or less sugar or cinnamon that is fine too. I think this is perfect!

Drizzle the rest of the melted butter over the top

Bake at 350 for approx 30 minutes.

I let this cool for just a bit. I love it when it's still warm but my mom likes it better cold. Either way its so tasty!
