Weekend Recap

My weekend goal list was quite lengthy! It included making the star mentioned before, stockings and a Santa Sack for Sawyer, and of course to crochet. How many of these things did I accomplish? ZERO! I did accomplish a TON of baking for Karly's bake sale, about 8 loads of laundry, I finished Christmas shopping and most of my wrapping, oh and made some homemade chili.

I start my work week off feeling like I hardly accomplished a thing this weekend! I realize looking back that isn't the case but it's still frustrating to me. I need to get better about finishing the responsible stuff quickly so that I have more play time!

My list is already a mile long for this week! Here's to hoping I prioritize well!

Have a good week!

Bloom

I can't quite remember how I stumbled upon this story on Monday but it instantly broke my heart. I have been so blessed to have 2 healthy children I cannot even begin to imagine this families world. I knew I wanted to do a little something to help but they were already closed for donations. I emailed anyways and they said OF COURSE! I, like most people am short on time always and try to be careful with what I spend money on (not always so good) but this truly is a good thing to spend on! I donated a few items to be auctioned and will be heading over to find something to bid on!
I hope you will consider doing the same!

Here is the deal:
*****************************************************
Looking for a way to provide service this holiday season? Here is a great opportunity. Starting Thursday, December 10th, there will be a charity auction at BLOOM (www.placetobloom.blogspot.com) to benefit Claire and Benson Skinner.
As explained by their parents, "Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She has been on dialysis since she was 3 months old and is on dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She is now on the waiting list to receive a combined kidney / liver transplant. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants."
You can read more about the Skinners' experience HERE. (givehopetobensonandclaire.blogspot.com)
All proceeds from the auction at BLOOM will go directly to Claire's COTA (Children's Organ Transplant Association) account to help pay for her transplant.

Please head over to BLOOM Thursday-Saturday for the auction!

Wanna Make it Wednesday

Can I just say I love 'Wanna Make It Wednesday'! It makes me feel a little less guilt for the time I spend randomly blog stalking. Maybe I will find something and share and you will run out and make it…SEE me being helpful! That is my justification anyways ;)

So for today….a few things!

This is probably the cutest Christmas tree shaped peppermint bark. Now that I know just how easy it is I think I have to make it! Karly has a bake sale Saturday and this may be on the list! Dollar Store Crafts has the recipe! Cheap crafts…does it get any better than that?!?!

Second…
I love this Ornament Wreath! I really want to make one but am fairly certain it won’t be this year. I am running out of time! Go check it out…love the wreath, love Samster Mommy’s blog!

2 years down....many more to come

December 8, 2007 Chris and I shared our vows committing our lives together. We were both pretty nervous but knew everything would be great! We had a pretty short dating relationship much of which was spent half a world apart…literally. We decided to get married and had our wedding 2 weeks later! We never lived together before moving to Texas a month after the wedding. We had many naysayers but we refused to listen. Here we are 2 years later, even more in love and going strong.

I think my favorite thing about our relationship is that we never fight. I can truly think of 1 time that we really had words. Do we bicker, nag and annoy each other? Sure. At the end of the day we still love and respect each other.

Two years ago I got very lucky and married an amazing man that has grown into a great husband and father.

Santa Clause is coming to town...

or the local mall ;)

We went to the mall Friday night for a little Christmas shopping. Since there was NO line for Santa we decided Sawyer had to see him!! Karly hates Santa, always has, so she had no intention of going up there with her brother.

PS

30 bucks for pictures with Santa?!?! What the hell!?

Halloween

Another catch up!

Halloween!
It was great living in a neighborhood for Halloween. Our neighborhood was dead but the next one over was great! Karly dressed as a dead punk rock girl (???) and Sawyer went as a skunk!

Pumpkin Patch

Time for a little catch up post! In true October fashion we headed to the Canton Pumpkin Patch for the day. Painted pumpkins, rode the hayride, shot corn from a cannon and shot pumpkins from a sling shot! A good time for all!
We ran into our little cousin Neely and spent a little time getting their faces painted and riding a few little rides.
